I got a reply about the face painting! Here's what my tutor said,

Hi Emma

If it's a one off thing that you guys are planning it seems better to borrow some kit from your friends to try...  35-70£ seems dear to me. As regards to stall I assume you will be organising permission? You do know that to use the square outside Ravensbourne you need a licence/ permission from Lendlease. It is a bit of a process because they are a massive company.

I'm sure your family and friends will enjoy the face paint.

PS. If I were you I would test trade on Friday by offering some Royalist facepainting! I reckon there's big money to be made if you go about it in a clever way;) I just saw cheap kits of red blue and white face paint at Tesco

Excellent stuff! I think my tutor Linnéa made some great points there. It makes me think that i should probably borrow equipment for now, because that way I can practice more.

I thought getting permission to have a stall on 02 grounds might be complicated. I was prepared for that. I'm sure with a bit of preparation and communication with the people in charge, we will be able to set up a nice stall for our business!

Also a valid point about the royal wedding on Friday. Might be a good opportunity to coax some patriotic people into having their faces painted with the british flag! Have forward this message on to my group members for their thoughts.

I should also mention that I may be getting help with the face painting. Mariluz Noto might be joining us! I'll let you know if the group does change or whatever.
